Do I need a visa?
This is dependent on your home country and the length of time you plan to stay in South Africa. A number of countries allow you a 90-day tourist visa free of charge; however you MUST note that you are entering South Africa on vacation. If you want to stay in South Africa longer than 3 months, we can send you a letter to assist you with additional visa requirements.
To determine whether you need a visa, contact the South African embassy in your home country and ask for all the information that you need in order to apply.
Do I need Travel Insurance?
It is mandatory that you have travel insurance. There are many companies which cover basic holidays in Africa but please make sure that you are specifically covered for safari and bush-walking. Other activities in the area that you may want to book in your free time could include horse-riding, scuba-diving, zip-lining and sky-diving among others. Make sure you are covered for these.
Vaccinations and Malaria
KwaZulu-Natal is in a low-risk malarial zone, however, if you are wishing to visit Mozambique or Kruger National Park during your stay, these areas are in the malarial zone. Please contact your doctors to understand the full suite of vaccinations that you may require.
