Warren Beets – Reserve Wildlife Manager
Warren has ten years of experience in wildlife and reserve management and is deeply invested in the wildlife and wildlife management team for which he is responsible on Thanda Safari. Nurturing healthy ecosystems to achieve optimal wildlife and biodiversity objectives is a core pursuit of his. While striving to achieve this, he works with his team to advance their knowledge and skills to reach their full potential.

Andrea Webster – Research Manager
While working and studying concurrently, Andrea completed her BSc (Hons) in Wildlife Management through the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Wildlife Management and has recently completed her MSc degree in behavioural endocrinology through the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Over the last 12 years, Andrea has worked in protected areas in the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga Lowveld and Botswana in various research capacities. Andrea has worked on a number of large and small mammal species but maintains a passion for large predator ecology, behaviour, effects of stress and the mitigation of human-predator conflict. Andrea will be coordinating research priorities for Thanda Safari.

Mariana Venter – Wildlife Co-ordinator
Mariana is Thanda Safari’s Wildlife Operations Co-ordinator. A passionate conservationist, she has worked in the bush for twelve years. Mariana started out as a guide in Kruger National Park and from there joined the Thanda team as a Field Guide. She subsequently joined the Thanda Safari Wildlife Team as a wild dog and priority species monitor for three years. She then joined Kruger National Park where she participated in research on wild dogs, cheetahs and hyaenas for two years. She returned to Thanda Safari in 2010 and worked as a Safety Officer for students doing vegetation surveys. During this time she initiated Black Rhino Monitoring on Thanda Safari and joined the Wildlife Management Team in 2012.

Letishia Kleinschmidt – Habitat Co-ordinator
Tish studied sports science and coaching as she is passionate about sports, but she was also called by her love of wildlife. She therefore trained as a FGASA Level 1 Field Guide in the Eastern Cape and joined the Thanda Safari team in 2011 where she rose to the position of Habitat Management Co-ordinator. She is responsible for the control of bush encroachment and alien invasive plants, as well as fire management.
